Harnessing the power
From our popular annual gala to smaller happenings year-round—this is where you’ll find the latest news on events in support of the new continuing care lodge in Meadow Lake.
NCLA 2020 Fundraiser.
We would like to thank everyone who attended our golf tournament on August 15th. A total of $10,687.00 was raised! Thank-you to everyone who volunteered and sponsored our event!
NCLA 2019 Fundraiser.
Our 2019 fundraising event was brought to us by Merv's Pitchfork Fondue. The October event raised a total of $9,133.53! The Northwest Community Lodge Association would like to thank everyone who donated and came out to support our fundraising efforts.
To help with fundraising efforts, tickets were sold on a storage shed valued at $2,5000. The lucky winner was Marilyn Farr.
With blessings for the day (kîsikâw-Day) our August 9, 2018 International Day of World’s Indigenous People’s celebration at the Lodge, all (ayisîniwak) enjoyed the dance, drum, fiddle, & food. Celebrations showcased First Nations shawl dance and our littlest grass dancer accompanied by the big drum. The ever enthusiastic fiddle and guitar brought Metis music alive showcasing jiggers dancing with style, grace and passion. Traditional berry food, crafting and sharing of knowledge from Indigenous leaders in the Community made the day a success for all. We Give thanks-nanâskomanân.
At our 2018 annual fundraising gala, Bonnie Kilroe’s one-woman show DIVAS brought Cher, Pasty Cline, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion and many more to the Meadow Lake Civic Centre. The event raised over $21,638 for the new lodge.
Our 2017 annual gala featured the hilarious antics of Mark Schweighardt and Lee Bells, otherwise known as Don’t Mind Us Comedy. The event raised over $10,658 to help equip and furnish the new lodge.
Our annual gala has become the NCLA’s most popular community fundraising event. And every year, the gala organizing committee spends months planning a stellar event, complete with cocktails, supper and upbeat entertainment.
A sincere thank you to our many generous sponsors and hardworking volunteers for helping make the gala such a success!
Q: Do you issue a ticket receipt?
A: Yes, we issue a confirmation receipt for all ticket purchases. You can use your receipt for business tax purposes.
Q: Do you issue a charitable donation receipt for the annual event?
A: No, Canada Revenue Agency does not allow us to issue a charitable donation receipt for event tickets, even though 100% of the money raised goes to the NCLA. Their reason is that we give “value in excess of our ticket price,” meaning food, entertainment, door prizes, etc.
Q: Where can I buy tickets?
A: Use your credit card to buy your tickets online.
Or call us at (306) 240-8512.
Or message us via our Facebook page.
Q: How can I pay for my tickets?
A: Use your credit card or PayPal to purchase tickets online. When ordering from a NCLA Board member, pay with cash or cheque (payable to Northwest Community Lodge Association) when you pick them up. When buying at a participating ticket seller, pay with cash, cheque or credit card.
